Sondra Bowers
Rev. Bowers was born in Columbia, Missouri, the youngest of three children. She was baptized in the National Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Springfield, MO where her family lived until she was eleven years old. Her family left the warm southern surroundings of Springfield for the winter wonderland of Marquette, Michigan on banks of Lake Superior. Sondra graduated from Marquette High School in 1980. She earned her undergraduate degree in Music Education / Music Therapy from the Conservatory of Music, University Of Missouri at Kansas City in 1986 and received her Master’s of Divinity from St. Paul School of Theology here in Kansas City in 2003.
Rev. Bowers has been serving as Senior Minister at Red Bridge Christian Church since June of 2008. Prior to coming to Red Bridge, Rev. Bowers served as Minister of Youth and Christian Education in various churches in the Greater Kansas City Region for over 12 years.
She has attended a Disciples of Christ Church most of her life.
Rev. Bowers is married to Ed Bowers and they have a teenage son, Chad. Rev. Bowers enjoys outdoor activities, music and relaxing in the sunshine.
